From design to backend architecture

Career

I started building web pages in HTML when I was 12 and haven’t stopped learning since. I’m self-taught: my first jobs were in graphic and web design, and from there I moved into full-time e-commerce development.

Over the years I kept going down the stack: from templates to the backend, from the backend to ERP and payment integrations, and from there to the architecture of high-traffic platforms. Today I work with TypeScript, NestJS, Next.js, MongoDB, Redis and AWS on a platform serving more than two million requests a month.

How I approach engineering

• Simple, readable code over premature abstractions.
• Performance and resilience measured, not assumed.
• Technical debt managed continuously, without stopping the business.
• Shared standards and internal tools that make the rest of the team faster.

Product

As the founder of Build the Drop I’ve gone through the whole SaaS cycle: idea, architecture, development, deployment and customers. That makes me see code as a tool in service of the product and the business.
